Sea World & Brevard Zoo!

We've had a fun week! We took Emma to Sea World last Thursday night with her friends, Austin, Hailey, and Collin. They all had a ball! Our favorite was the underwater viewing area for the dolphins and the killer whales. So neat! We got to see Tilly (the whale) up close too! Emma had a great time...checking out the animals and dancing to music! She also got to see the Shamu show and the fireworks - which she loved!

Then, we went to the Brevard Zoo on Friday - to play in their splash pad/swimming area! Again, Emma just had a blast playing with all of the kids. She went up to one little boy she didn't know and blew him a kiss! Really! She was also emulating her friends and trying to learn to swim by putting her hands on the floor of the waist deep "pool" and letting her legs and feet float!

Enjoy some cute pictures~!

15 Months Old!

Emma trying to escape the exam room!

Well, its official. Emma Anne is 15 months old today! She had her checkup and shots this morning and she is doing very well! She is growing very good - starting to slow down with weight gain but grow in height (she actually lost weight since last time)! Her stats are as follows:

Weight: 22 lbs 5 oz; 50th percentile
Height: 30"; 35th percentile
Head circumference: 18.5"; 75th percentile

(Just for comparison...at her 12 month checkup, she was in the 75th percentile for weight, 25th percentile for height, and 90th percentile for head circumference!)

Yay! She's getting taller, thinner, and her head is not getting bigger!!! She performed well - and her Pediatrician Dr. Andrew was impressed! Emma immediately walked over to her and took her pen, clicked it on, and proceeded to draw on her chart! It was hilarious. She's eating, drinking, sleeping, learning, talking etc all right on track for her age!

Her rash seems to be gone unless she goes in the sun - she thinks it was likely something viral. We also had a little mishap last night...and Emma fell in the bathtub and cut the corner of her eye. She seems fine and isn't bothered by it anymore. The doctor looked at it and thought it was fine...scared Mama and Dada though.

After her bathtub accident...Emma wanted to cuddle with Daddy...

Like father, like daughter...they're sleeping in the same position!

Summertime

Well, Emma is thoroughly enjoying her pool! She will go in anytime - no matter how warm or cold the water may be! She's doing very well...but has fallen in a couple of times. She does flip over to her back and tries to get to the surface (sometimes successfully, sometimes not)! But Mama and Dada are always close by and rescue her. It doesn't seem to phase her for long!

Last weekend, we went to Savannah for Uncle Michael's college graduation from Savannah College of Art and Design. Emma did great and had a fun time there! We also had a BBQ & pool party with some friends on Memorial Day. Emma had so much fun at her little table with her friends!

Emma has her 15 month doctor's appointment next week - so we are excited to see how much she has grown and how she is doing! She amazes us daily with how much she understands! She follows commands (usually), points to objects and people, and tries to have a conversation with you! It's hilarious! And, my little angel LOVES shoes! She put on a pair of my heels (matching of course) and walked down the hall! Emma also got her first haircut recently! Mama took her to her work and one of her technicians who also cuts hair helped us out! Emma wasn't too sure what to think about that! Enjoy some pictures!

Pool!

Well, it's almost done! Our pool finally is filled with water. We now just have to put the finishing touches on it and get our final inspections - and we can swim!!! Emma and Dada couldn't resist getting their feet wet though as we started to fill the pool up. It was adorable - Emma loved playing with the hose. Enjoy some pictures of this "milestone." I've also added some pictures of Emma's last swimming lesson - where Dada got to see her show her stuff and Mama got to get in the water!

Beach Day - 14 Months!

Well, it's been a while since I've blogged! It's been an eventful past couple of weeks to say the least. We had a great Mother's Day weekend! Dada took Emma to breakfast on Saturday morning, and then we headed to the Moncello's house for a fabulous pool party! Then we headed to the beach for some rest and relaxation! Had a nice dinner, and spent Sunday by the beach. Emma Anne loved it as usual. We got some great pictures of her playing in the surf! She keeps us laughing!

I got sick last week, and found out Friday that I had Strep throat. No fun. So - Dada spent some time with Emma, and then she went to visit MeMe at the beach, and to see Granmom and Grandad in Cocoa. Mama was just too tired and sick to play with Emma - but boy do I miss her! Feeling better today - heading in to work this afternoon and to get the little angel tonight!

Emma is really trying to communicate with us - and jabbers all the time! She says the normal Mama, Dada, and hot (pronounced "ot"). She has also started saying "Uh-Oh", and the occasional cat and dog while pointing to them. It is so cute. But she just mumbles and jabbers and really tries to tell us something! It is so cute! She's running all over the place...and laughs and laughs! She will bend over and laugh she is laughing so hard...sometimes trying to imitate us! Quite a little personality!

Enjoy some great pictures!

Thursday, May 6, 2010

So we've had a busy week at the McCully household! Mama had a birthday (we won't discuss the number) - and we spent last Saturday at the beach celebrating with our friends! Emma had a ball. This girl is a beach bum! She played, and played, and played...and has no fear of the waves! It was a blast! She got to visit with all of her little friends...ages ranging from 4 months to 5 years! (Caroline, Owen, Will, Collin, Hailey, Austin, Andrew, Ava, Jackson, and Connor!)

The other good news is that Emma is finally starting to enjoy and excel in her swim lessons. She actually cracked a smile 2 days in a row!!! This is much improved from screaming throughout the entire lesson! Our pool is also nearing completion...1-2 more weeks and we'll be swimming!

Emma also learned to drink from a straw this week! Exciting! She is very proud of herself - it is hilarious!

I also finally uploaded some pics from our SeaWorld trip a couple of weeks ago with some friends. They turned out SO cute...Enjoy!!!

Zoo

Sorry for the lack of posting lately! It's been a busy few weeks! Emma and I went to the Brevard Zoo last Friday with our friends Collin, Hailey, Austin, and Aunt Niki! We had a blast! The kids LOVED the splash pad/water park area...we must have spent an hour and a half playing in the water! We also went to SeaWorld with friends on Sunday afternoon and had a great time! The dolphins were Emma (and my) favorite!!!

On another note, Emma's music class is now over. She really enjoyed it and had so much fun every week getting to know her class and learn songs! We still do "Macaroni" and "Pop Goes the Weasel" at least daily! We may sign her up for another class later this summer!

Her swimming lessons are going...ok. She is doing well at learning the floating and rolling etc...but she continues to cry throughout the entire lesson. Unless Grandma Sue takes her, that is! Hopefully she'll figure this out soon and start enjoying the water! Enjoy some zoo photos and other random pics from the last couple of weeks!
