Emma had her Granny in town visiting last weekend - and had a wonderful time showing her around! We started off at the beach - and enjoyed a beautiful day in the sun. Emma had a great time digging, building sandcastles and turtles in the sand, and running in the waves. She got lots of swimming time in "the big pool" as well. We then spent a relaxing weekend at home swimming and playing ("riding my bicycle"). Enjoy some great beach pics!

Zoo Day
Emma and I braved the heat today and went to the Brevard Zoo! It was a lot of fun - but wow is it hot already! Emma is at a good age for this now...she was really interested in seeing the animals. That is except those birds [biting incident last year :-)]. I think she still remembers. We ventured into the aviary and Emma said, "let's go see something else Mom!" Too funny. We saw giraffes, monkeys, ducks, boars, macaws, birds, alligators, deer, and bald eagles. Then we thought it was time to cool off - so we of course made a visit to the splash pad/wading pool @ the zoo! Perfect ending!

Pinkle Pinkle Little Star

We are finally home after our first long road trip with Emma since she was a baby! She did GREAT! We were actually VERY surprised...she did wonderful on the 9 hour drive up and back. We split the drive and I think that helped - and she loved staying in a hotel! She was a little angel!
We had so much fun in NC visiting MeMe & Pop Pop. Emma loved riding the golf cart and running around on the golf course looking for balls at night. We went swimming, saw [and pet] miniature horses, went to a small town 4th of July Parade, and just enjoyed being in the mountains. We also went on a hike at Fire's Creek - and played in the creek with rocks afterwards. This was definitely a highlight!
Emma also really started singing this weekend. It was so cute...she kept singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star...but her version is "Pinkle Pinkle Little Star!" Adorable! She also loves to sing "Jesus Loves Me," and "ABC's". She loved singing her songs into a pretend microphone (door knob) and with Pop Pop's guitar! Enjoy some of our favorite photos from the weekend! And yes - we're still pacy free :-) Hooray!

Big Girl
We now have a big girl on our hands. Sorry that we haven't posted in a while...we've been a little busy. We now have a potty trained, big girl bed sleeping, big girl who no longer is attached to a PACY!!!!! Wow. I never thought it would happen. Emma has forgotten about her pacy. It only took 2 days! I'm beginning to think she was born with a pacy in her mouth...and we are finally free! She has made some huge strides lately - and has adjusted really well. She is doing great with potty training - without jinxing it - we haven't had an accident in a while :-) She loves her big girl bed [toddler bed] - and frequently appears in our room at 6 am staring at my {or John's} face. What a great way to wake up!

Memorial Weekend
Last weekend was quite a time - celebrating Memorial Day and taking the kids to the beach! We went to Daytona Beach {girls on Thursday night, boys on Friday} and let the kids soak up the sun. We swam, played, built sand castles, played more, swam more...and just had a ball. Emma loved spending time with her friends - Austin, Hailey, and Collin! They saw starfish, dolphins, fish and jellyfish. One of the highlights was the Daddy's building the kids a pool on the beach (twice) - complete with a slide! We came home on Sunday and went to Disney World on Monday. Enjoy our favorite photos!

Mother's Day
We had a great Mother's Day last weekend. Went to church and brunch, and then to a Beach Picnic in Cocoa. Emma of course had to get a little swimming in first with Grandad! Enjoy some great beach pics - especially of Uncle Michael frolicking with Emma in the surf! She was WORN out!!!

[our picnic visitors - 4 in all!]

Strawberries & Blueberries
We went out in nature today - and picked some strawberries & blueberries @ Pappy's Patch with Grandma Sue! We all had a ball. Discovered that Emma STILL loves strawberries - but we're not quite sure about blueberries yet. We'll see what mom can do with some pancakes or sugar!
Emma has been doing great with her swimming - we practice in our pool almost daily. She is so brave - must be her Daddy in her! She tried to jump off the tall wall (back side of pool) into the pool backwards today. Really - she's 2???? Also holds onto the big step, with her back facing the pool, lets go, goes underwater, spins 360 degrees, and reaches for the step and gets out....over, and over, and over. Silly Emma - at least she's practicing and getting comfortable in the pool and under water.
We were sickly last week - but are all on the mend....the whole time E was sick, she would say [when I'm better] "we're going to Disney Wo-o-r-l-d!" So cute!
